Anthony Surtees to retire as SBA Trustee after 47 years

Anthony Surtees 2

After 47 years of sterling service as SBA Trustee and 18 years as Chair of the Investments Committee, Anthony will be stepping down after the December 2016 Board Meeting.

Appointed a Director in 1970, Anthony succeeded his father, Conyers Surtees, who served the charity between 1948 and 1969 and was its Chairman in 1960.  Anthony himself took the chair in 1987, while also working for Norton, Rose, Botterell and Roche (now Norton Rose Fulbright).

We will all miss him at SBA and are enormously grateful for everything he has done for the charity, from following in his own father’s footsteps in supporting fellow lawyers in need, to most recently getting soaked at The Patrons’ Lunch!
