Every year we help around 400 solicitors and their families who are in serious financial need as a result of illness, accident or redundancy. Increasingly the beneficiaries are young and newly-qualified and perhaps prevented from working due to a disabling disease like MS or a severe stress-related breakdown. In 2009 the SBA paid out c.£1million in grants and c£400k in loans but we need to do so much more. The SBA also provides access to a sympathetic and supportive network of staff and local Directors who do all they can to help those in need get back on their feet.
